Wedding photo sharing FAQ
Quick answers for couples and hosts planning a wedding or another celebration with Toast Album.
Do guests need to download an app?
No. Guests scan the event QR code and upload from their phone browser.
What can guests upload?
Photos in JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, HEIC or HEIF format. Video uploads aren't supported. The exact original is preserved for your download, while the gallery uses a separate browser-friendly preview.
What if the venue has bad reception?
Uploads carry on from the photo they stopped at after a dropout or page refresh, and the queue stays saved in the guest's phone browser for up to 24 hours, so they can finish later on Wi-Fi.
How much does it cost?
Your first event is free with 50 photos. Paid plans are a one-time A$49 for 500 photos or A$79 for 2,000 photos per event, with no per-guest fees. The pricing page compares every plan.
Can I start free?
Yes. Your first event is free (50 photos, 60-day gallery) and you can upgrade it later. Each event after that uses a paid plan.
Can I upgrade later?
Yes. Upgrade a Free or Classic event from its manage page any time before its photos are deleted (restore it first if you archived it). You only pay the difference: Classic to Signature is A$30.
Are guests or photos unlimited?
Guest numbers are not capped. The current self-serve packages allow 50, 500 or 2,000 photos with explicit original-storage limits. Unusually large events are reviewed separately before purchase.
Is the gallery private?
Yes. Guests can only upload or view photos with the private QR code or link you share — the event can't be opened by guessing a code. You can also add an optional passcode as an extra layer, and hosts manage the event from their own account. Our Privacy Policy has the details.
Who can see our photos?
You, and anyone who has your private QR code or link (and your passcode, if you set one). They also see the name a guest adds beside their photos. Galleries are never listed publicly or in search engines, and our team only views a photo when handling a removal request.
Where are our photos stored?
Photos are stored privately in Sydney, Australia. They are never used for advertising or AI training.
Can I remove a photo a guest uploaded?
Yes. Guest photos appear in the gallery straight away, and you can delete any photo from your event's manage page at any time; it's removed from the gallery for everyone. Deleting all photos removes every photo already in the gallery, usually within a few minutes, and guests can keep uploading new ones. A guest who wants a photo removed can ask you or email privacy@toastalbum.com.au.
Can I download everything after the event?
Yes. You can download every original in one ZIP with Chrome or Edge on a computer, or Safari on a Mac, iPhone or iPad. Other browsers, such as Firefox or browsers on Android phones, get numbered ZIP parts instead, as does any download that cannot finish as one ZIP. The download preserves an original HEIC or HEIF when that is what a guest uploaded; we do not add a duplicate converted photo.
How long are our photos kept?
Your gallery period starts on your event date: a 60-day gallery on Free, or a 1-year gallery on Classic and Signature. When it ends, the gallery closes to guests and you have 30 more days to download everything. We email you 14 days and 3 days before the photos are deleted.
Where should the QR code go?
Where guests pause and have their phones out: on each table, at the bar, and at the welcome or guest book table. Some couples also add it to invitations or show it on a screen before the speeches. Our wedding QR code sign guide has more placement tips and wording ideas.
Can I print my own QR table cards?
Yes. Choose Modern Arch, Wildflower or Classic Frame, edit the wording, then download an A5 PDF, an A4 two-up PDF with a cutting guide, or a high-resolution PNG to print yourself or through a local printer. You can preview all three designs in our wedding QR code sign guide.
